44 and whoever wants to be first among you will be a slave to all. 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:44–45, CSB)
To wear the uniform of a service member is to embrace a calling higher than oneself; a life of sacrifice, commitment, and courage. But in a world that often equates greatness with power, status, or personal gain, Jesus offers a radically different definition. In Mark 10:44–45, He teaches that true greatness is found in servanthood; a message especially vital for us who serve in the military. Lead by lifting others, service is the mark of true greatness.
